Services

Our Services

All veterinary services and drugs are provided on a donation basis. In order to ensure we replace medications when used and keep our surgical equipment in top condition we rely heavily on donations.
Many of the clients who use the clinics services are unsure how much to donate so we have come up with a suggested list of donations for services provided. These donations cover the direct cost of the treatment.

Suggested donations

De-sexing Dogs (castrations and speys) $50 Male-$60 Female each

De-sexing Cats (castrations and speys) $20 Male-$30 Female each

Consultation $20
Flea treatment $15/pet
X-rays $40
Lump removal $60 – $100
Medication $10 – $40
Bandaging $10 – $50
Other surgery treatment – please ask for a suggestion

Due to the costs associated with the following services we are unable to provide them on a donation basis.

Heartworm Test – $30 (more information below)
Export Tests – POA
Pentostan Injections (for arthritis) – to be determined upon consultation
Yearly Heartworm Injections – to be determined upon consultation

Donations do not have to be in cash.

– You can spend time helping out at the clinic for example with cleaning, laundry, yard work or maintenance.
– If you have extra produce, you could donate it to our volunteers. You can also help our volunteers to have a good time on Rarotonga by welcoming them to community events or treating them to activities.

Members of the public and visitors to the Cook Islands often get in touch with us wondering what items would be helpful for us here at the clinic.

For those in the veterinary or medical industries, we have a medical supplies list we can forward to you, including urgently needed items. For everyone else, the below list includes items that are easily accessible yet essential to us continuing to operate as a charity vet clinic in a remote island community.

Heartworm Alert!

– We often see dogs with heart-worm infections.
– This is a deadly disease that is hard and very expensive to treat if your dog becomes infected.
– We can do a simple blood test for $30 to check if your dog has heart-worm and then we can provide a preventative by injection that will give a full year of protection.
– The cost of this is calculated by your dog’s weight.

Please ring us on 27719 for more information or to book your dog in for treatment.
