Volunteer

Volunteer

Te Are Manu relies on the generosity of incredible volunteers from all over the world to staff our clinic and provide quality veterinary care to the animals of Rarotonga and the Cook Islands.

Volunteer with Us

We are very fortunate to have a beautiful new clinic based in Arorangi and welcome any volunteers with open arms and a friendly Cook Islands welcome!

Volunteers should have a minimum of 2 years clinical experience and be able to work unsupervised.

The clinic operates on a roster system, including some after hours, but you will have enough leisure time to explore this beautiful island. Be sure to pack your swimwear – the swimming and snorkelling from our beach is spectacular!

Who

We are currently in need of volunteers who are keen to make a difference whilst also having the opportunity to enjoy a stay in paradise.
Your volunteer experience will see you gain experience and exposure to an exciting and sometimes challenging caseload.
You will also get to explore this beautiful place that we call home.

When

We prefer volunteers to stay for a minimum period of 3 weeks – this allows the clinic to run smoothly as well as giving you plenty of time to explore Rarotonga and beyond.
And you never know, once you’re here you might not want to leave! There is no maximum stay with us – you can come for a year if you like (we’ll arrange your visa/work permit as needed).

If you are only able to stay for less than 3 weeks please still get in touch as we’ll always try to accommodate your needs.

Where

Our volunteers stay in our volunteer house (your home away from home), just a short walk from the clinic and nestled on Rarotonga’s stunning lagoon. We organise airport transfers for all our volunteers and will help you get settled in once you arrive.
